Cover Girl
Max Eigenmann
For someone who comes from a showbiz clan, Maxine Eigenmann—surprisingly— wasn’t that interested in acting at first. “A lot of my cousins and brothers started very young. I decided to try it when I was 20.” And when she did, she fell in love with it.
But that’s not the only thing surprising about Max. On the day of the shoot, she wowed us by demonstrating how naturally flexible and athletic she is. Doc Marlon would ask her to do a certain pose, and Max would do it effortlessly. So we asked her about it and she animatedly shared with us her love for sports: “I was a gymnast from age 7 to 12, I swam for a year for Maria Montessori (high school), and in my second and third year in high school I was into running and dancing.” She adds, “After school, when I was already living on my own, my brothers, cousin, and I got into boxing together. Oh and I did yoga for a while, too.”
That’s a lot of sports! But now, how do you stay fit?
I tried wakeboarding five years ago but I stopped. But recently, I tried getting back into it.
How about your diet? What’s it like?
I eat everything—but everything in moderation. Instead of having three meals a day, I eat five small ones. The less you eat in a meal, the easier to digest. I try to stay away from carbs, but at home, I eat brown rice.
Speaking of food, do you cook?
My specialty is vegan lasagna. Actually it’s just eggplant, but it’s really good! You should try it.
What’s keeping you busy, Max?
I’m studying in Make Up Forever Philippines. I’m taking up the basic course, the first module. I’ve done a couple of editorials but I decided that I should learn more, develop my craft more.
